Sand Dunes Trip
One of our goals for the trip was to build crew community. This is how I think we did. The first thing that helped us was going to the dunes. When we went to the dunes people helped each other up the dunes. The second thing that helped was the work groups. In our work groups we got to work with people we didn’t know before. Finally, this is what we need to work on; we need to work on bus rides. We need to work on not being so crazy on the busses. I think we did very well building a community.
You know how the crew did on building a community now I will tell you about how the nature at the dunes was so interesting. One of the things I learned was that Colorado had mammoths. Colorado had Columbian mammoths. The Columbian mammoths were larger than the wooly mammoths. My second fact that I thought was interesting was that a variety of insects can only be found in the Sand Dunes. These are a few of the insects that can be found, the Tiger beetle, the Clown beetle, and the Circus beetle. Another interesting fact I learned is that a few Indian tribes lived near the Sand Dunes. One of the native tribes that live in the Sand Dunes history is the Utes. Those are interesting facts I learned.
My favorites, my favorites, I must tell you my favorites. My favorite activity of all was rolling down the Dunes. When we took 3 hours to get up High Dune it took us 30 minutes to roll down, it was phenomenal. After we got down the dunes we went to the river. After we got to the river I helped the river keep going by helping make a new track for the water, it was magnificent, until the water dried. My final favorite activity was the talent show. The talent show was at the camp fire, it had many acts including: Me and Triston doing ociffer and Isa and Aubrielle doing a comedy version of the Titanic and Star Wars. Hope you enjoyed the refection of the trip.
